The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 tells the story of how using his intelligence and extensive knowledge of drugs and poisons, Maoamo manages to play an important role in solving a series of mysteries and conspiracies plaguing the imperial court.
Having recently come to terms with his parents’ secret, he returns to be able to fulfill his normal duties on behalf of the emperor’s highest-ranking concubines. Maomao also worked with the eunuch Jinshi to improve many of the concubine maids, including helping them learn to read.
However, with the arrival of the merchant caravan came a new wave of intrigue. A coincidentally strange pattern involving the visitors and their merchandise makes Maomao visibly uneasy, which eventually pressures him to investigate the puzzling circumstances behind the convoy.
